This is why his soul is worth 100 souls. Because he saved 100 slaves. The Black Pearl has its name for a reason. It’s a slave running ship.

Actually, that’s not quite correct. The reason the Black Pearl has it’s name is because it burnt down. The original name of the ship carrying slaves was called the Wicked Wench. Jack Sparrow captained this ship during the time he worked with the East India Trading Co. After refusing to haul slaves, he was arrested and personally branded with a P by Lord Cutler Beckett. Then, as punishment, was chained to his own ship while it was lit aflame and left to die. However, as he was dying, he made a pact with Davy Jones to bring both himself and his ship back for thirteen years in exchange for 100 souls. In doing this, Davy Jones made it the fastest and most dangerous ship in existence (besides the Dutchman, of course). So the reason the Pearl is black is not because it carried slaves, but because Jack Sparrow gave his life to save them.

Why do they keep making dumb movies like the Fountain of Youth when they could make a great Captain Jack backstory movie

Gothic Horror Namimori AU

In which Namimori is an eldritch abomination of a town and no one quite knows what to think. 

Point #1: Where things happen and children go missing only to show up later with something different about them. These things are considered normal. Also, the shopping district closes on Saturdays because a giant black demon portal opens up then and it really disrupts the shopping experience. Don’t play in the river on Monday evenings because that thing will be awake and might eat you. 

Point #2: When new people come to visit Namimori, things get tame for about two weeks after which it’ll start acting up again. That’s why Iemitsu and the Vongola don’t know anything. 

Point #3: Death is normal and everyone has died at least once. 

  • Yamamoto has succeeded with jumping off the school roof one Tuesday. He wakes up in bed. It’s Tuesday all over again. 
  • Namimori won’t let her citizens die. Giotto is still somewhere. 
  • Once you call Namimori home, there’s no turning back. Even Kawahira can’t escape. 

Point #4: Hibari protects citizens from Namimori. 

Point #5: When Namimori thinks you’re ready, she will send a stork with a baby to you. You can’t spare your descendants from living in Namimori. There is no escape. 

Point #6: People stop aging at some point in their lives. 

Point #7: Time and dimension is strange in Namimori. 

  • During Thursday, time paradox day, Giotto writes to Cozart and asks him to visit Namimori. 
  • Cozart hates Giotto for doing this to him, for imprisoning him inside Namimori, but he’ll come around. They always do. 
  • The entire Primo Gen is there. They can’t leave. Alaude wants to die, but he can’t, he can’t be free.

Point #8: People do die every day in Namimori, but they don’t stay dead. They don’t stay whole either. 

  • Sawada Nana is a perfect example of what happens if you die too many times. The only reason she is still Sawada Nana is because she clings onto her love for Iemitsu, and hence hasn’t lost herself. Sometimes, Nana forgets that she has a child. She forgets her age too, and how long it has been since she last saw Iemitsu. Tsuna’s fine with it. He has it better than Hana. 
  • Tsuna and Kyoko have died only once. Yamamoto has died a few times. Ryohei has died even more times, mostly protecting Kyoko from Namimori. 
  • Cozart has a family before Namimori. He’s forgotten about it already, though. Sometimes, he remembers. Sometimes, he hates Giotto for dragging him here. Giotto kills him then. 
  • Sometimes Giotto remembers life outside Namimori. He feels shame and overwhelming guilt because he was the one who dragged Cozart and his Guardians here. They kill him then. 
  • Namimori brings Elena to Daemon. A reward, but also an incentive not to leave. Elena hates it there. She hatesithatesithatesitletmedieletmedieletmediepleasepleasepleaseletmerestinpeaceibegofyou doesn’t really remember much.
