You know why this is effective?

Not only is Tadashi speaking to Hiro, and technically making eye contact with him, he’s talking to the audience.

Imagine how much this could help someone who is or was going through a situation like this, or isn’t confident about themselves. What if no one has told them this yet? Now someone has.

You were just told that you were needed, and that they won’t give up on you. You feel loved, even if it’s by a fictional character. They can still give you comfort and support.

That is why this is effective.

Assortment of Hamada bros headcanons. All platonic but tagging hidashi just in case

  • Hiro and Tadashi have this thing about messing up each other’s hair 
  • Tadashi will ruffle hiro’s to annoy him and sometimes put it in tiny braids when he’s not looking until it got to the point that hiro took a pair of scissors and chopped it into a shaggy mess. 
  • (tadashi fixed it up so it looked nicer and that is how hiro got the hairstyle we see in the movie.)
  • tadashi’s hair is too short to really mess with so hiro steals his hair products and hides them instead.
  • when they were little they watched lilo and stitch and hiro clung to tadashi for like a week afterwards because he didn’t know social workers separating siblings from each other was a thing that could happen. 
  • sometimes hiro comes to tadashi at night because of a nightmare and tadashi will ask ‘was it about agent bubbles again’ and hiro will be like ‘no. maybe.’
  • sometimes when tadashi catches hiro botfighting he doesn’t say ‘what if you got hurt,’ he says ‘what if i got hurt protecting you’ because that’s what works best and it can keep hiro from going for like a month straight.
  • The biggest reason they never have big conflicts between them is because hiro is an angry crier so the rare times they do get in a shouting match hiro starts tearing up and tadashi is immediately apologetic and gives hiro whatever he wants.
  • one time the supermarket was out of gummy bears so tadashi bought a big package of gummy worms instead but hiro was like ‘gummy worms are an abomination. i only eat gummy bears, you know this’ and he made tadashi eat all the gummy worms by himself.
  • please imagine hiro calling tadashi a ‘brother hen’ and tadashi’s reaction to that. thank you.
  • tadashi had reading glasses, and when hiro gets older he winds up needing glasses for seeing far away. their frames look pretty much the same so sometimes hiro accidentally puts on tadashi’s glasses and then he gets sad because tadashi is dead.
