Ok I know this ED is old news but let me tell you why it is ~~and always will be~~ my favorite

It portrays Naruto’s relationship with Sasuke perfectly

So at the start of the ED, we have Naruto reaching for Sasuke, but he is rejected and pushed away. The distance between them grows and walls are built between the two of them.

Then we have Naru sitting all alone acting cute and bored just doing his thing or whatever when, suddenly, he hears something

So he presses his ear to the wall and realizes whatever he heard is sasuke

And he goes insane trying to break down the wall to get to him

Throwing himself against the wall, kicking it, smashing his head against it, hitting it with the lamp (throwing himself into darkness in the process, which is interesting because Naruto is shown multiple times in this ED willingly, uncaringly entering total darkness for Sasuke)

When he realizes he can’t break the wall, he starts running running running, fast and desperate and panicked, trying to get to Sasuke. he runs to the point of exhausting himself (remember kids, he’s a ninja; his endurance has to be pretty high so he must have been running for a good while)

At this point Naruto is physically and emotionally drained and frustrated and upset because he can’t reach Sasuke

Then he gets a hug from mommy and his resolve has returned, and he has the confidence to break down the walls

His parents give him an encouraging push towards Sasuke ~~not that Naruto needs it~~

Sasuke is all he can think of and all he can see and he heads straight towards him, into the darkness that has been continuously growing and enveloping Sasuke

Naruto doesn’t care at all that the darkness is tainting him and pulling him in. he only cares about getting to Sasuke

And he finally does and he takes Sasukes hand in his and Sasuke doesn’t push him away this time because Sasuke needs him, too

I just love this ED because it shows Narutos obsession and devotion to Sasuke

Naruto would give everything up for him and i think that’s incredible…Sasuke is more important than his own dreams and well-being and everything

Sasuke is his goal and most precious person and I asdjghjkfhklghlk

it’s also interesting that the very last scene is naruto enveloped by light – which leads me to believe that by taking sasuke’s hand, naruto shattered the darkness and saved sasuke ~~but that might just be my shipper heart reading too far into things~~

and obviously the song choice says a lot, as well

here is the translation:

If the scenery I’m looking for is in the depths of your eyes,
